I have cruised extensively in the Caribbean and I think I have all of Steve Pavlidis cruising guides at this point. Every one is very good. In particular, I like his navigational descriptions, that is, his charts, way-points, and descriptions of anchorages- they are very useful. I like to flip through his books when I'm not sailing and look at his charts and look at places I have been and plan to go to. Its also refreshing to see no advertising, no blustery over-opinionated commentary, or poor editing. His books, both spiral bound and soft cover editions, seem to hold up well on-board.

I have used this guide for navigating the Bay Islands (Roatan and Utilla) and found the navigational information to be spot on. Coordinates for entering anchorages along Roatan's Southern Coast were accurate. The authors diatribe reference security issues at Utila might be dated as I have anchored there many times with no issues. Although taking security measures is prudent at any destination. All in all, I would recommend this cruising guide for the Bay Islands.
